Willson Farming Company celebrates 100 years of family farming

Albany, Georgia — 2026 marks a remarkable milestone for Willson Farming Company as the family-owned company celebrates 100 years since purchasing its first pecan orchard in Albany, Georgia.

What began in 1926 with a vision for growing premium pecans has evolved into one of the South’s most respected agricultural and mail-order food businesses. For a century, the Willson family has remained committed to quality, stewardship, and sharing the harvest of Southwest Georgia with families across the country.

In 1948, the family expanded beyond the orchard and launched a mail-order business, bringing high-quality fresh pecans and specialty foods directly to customers nationwide. That pioneering spirit helped establish what would become Sunnyland Farms, a nationally recognized brand known for premium pecans, handmade baked goods, gourmet gifts, and exceptional customer service.

Today, nearly 100 years after the family’s first orchard purchase, Willson Farming Company continues to grow, harvest, and produce products that reflect the same standards and values that guided the company from the beginning.
