Economic and Workforce Development

Inland Port: supports legislation authorizing an additional port tax credit of $1,250 per job for companies utilizing the regional Inland Port in Cordele, maximizing the state’s available port tax credit and encouraging job growth throughout south and southwest Georgia.

Transportation: supports the 4-laning of Hwy 133 from Albany to Valdosta and urges state officials to identify and advance dedicated funding for the completion of these key corridors to include US Hwy 27 in south and southwest Georgia.

Federal Issues MCLB-Albany: supports the sustainability, viability and daily operations of MCLB-Albany and the Moody Air Force-Valdosta base as driving forces in the regional economy and urges federal intervention to prevent catastrophic downsizing of military installations in south and southwest Georgia.


Pro-Business Environment

Job Creation: supports legislation to create and expand discretionary funding incentives for small-to-medium sized businesses that encourage job creation, investment, research and development.

Rural Georgia: supports the restoration of dedicated funding for rural economic development in south and southwest Georgia, via groups like the OneGeorgia Authority for the purpose of growing and attracting rural business.
